about Summer Rain Farm

Summer Rain Farm, is our 5 Acre property we acquired in 2008. We added a barn, an orchard, vegetable gardens, pastures for animals, landscaped around the house and enjoyed growing fruit, vegetables and flowers. This year we are going to bring flower farming to the property and sell our honey, eggs and flowers from our farm stand.

For instance, horses, pigs, turkeys, chickens, ducks, geese and bees there is always lots to learn about their care.

As well as orchards, vineyards, gardens and composting takes planning and techniques to make for a good harvest.

Come and spend some time with me and find fun ways to use your country property to its full potential. If it’s not fun it’s not a hobby.

A bit about me.

I’ve been gardening since 1990 and started our hobby farm in 2008. We began it to bring our boarded horses home, thinking to save money. (Not so much in the beginning but eventually yes )

Luckily we found a great piece of land and to use it right, we made it work for us, raising animals and growing produce for ourselves.

We added things slowly with a lot of research involved (Something I enjoy doing)and made changes as we went along. I even took a university beekeeping course before taking up beekeeping!

This hobby of ours includes our 4 grown children, who contribute when needed but mostly we do this lifestyle because we love it.
