about Summer Rain Farm

Summer Rain Farm, bringing market bouquets, local honey and farm fresh eggs to our community.
I want to inspire beginner hobby farmers to use their land productively by teaching about animals and plants to raise or grow as a hobby.

pigs

For instance, horses, pigs, turkeys, chickens, ducks, geese and bees there is always lots to learn about their care.

As well as orchards, vineyards, gardens and composting takes planning and techniques to make for a good harvest.

Come and spend some time with me at Summer Rain Farm and find fun ways to use your country property to its full potential. If it’s not fun it’s not a hobby.

A bit about me.

I’ve been gardening since 1990 and started our Summer Rain Farm in 2008. We began it to bring our boarded horses home, thinking to save money. (Not so much in the beginning but eventually yes )

Luckily we found a great piece of land and to use it right, we made it work for us, raising animals and growing produce for ourselves and now opening a farm stand.

Beehives wrapped for winter

We added things slowly with a lot of research involved (Something I enjoy doing)and made changes as we went along. I even took a university beekeeping course before taking up beekeeping!

Summer Rain Farm includes our 4 grown children, who contribute when needed but mostly we do this lifestyle because we love it.
